As a student of the Master’s programme in Green Engineering, you will learn about the different process chains of the bioeconomy and also how to evaluate them:
- the characterization and provision of renewable materials and biogenic residual and waste materials
- the technological approaches to their material and energetic utilization
- innovative products and possibilities for a sustainable energy supply
The main areas of focus for your studies will include:
- Biogenic raw, residual and waste materials
- Technical processes in the field of material and energetic biomass utilization
- Raw material and energy industry framework conditions
- Energy law and basics of plant licensing
- Life cycle assessment
The course is carried out in cooperation with the Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts, which is why some of the lectures take place in Hannover, the capital city of Lower Saxony.
What can I do with it later?
The demand for skilled workers and specialists in the field of renewable raw materials and renewable energies remains high.
A recent survey of our graduates shows that after graduation you work in such areas as: Engineering offices with the planning of various plants for material and energetic biomass utilization, in an energy supply company, in project management, in research institutions or in the production and processing of renewable raw materials
What makes this study programme special?
In the project-based degree programme, you will benefit from the expertise of 2 proven universities: HAWK in Göttingen and the Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts. You study in small semester groups of 20 and receive personal support from the lecturers.
The teaching concept provides for you to carry out your own experiments in the energy laboratory and the technical center, as well as to cooperate directly with partners from our regional business network in an application-oriented manner.
Gamification, the flipped classroom, and business simulation games also add variety to learning with us.
We also offer you a wide range of electives to choose from, participation in national trade fairs as well as international events, such as summer schools or conferences.
You will already establish contact with potential employers during your studies and also benefit from our research strength: HAWK is one of the 6 universities of applied sciences in Germany that have more than 3 research areas on the research map of the German Rectors' Conference.
