It is important to us that our participants feel comfortable in our courses and that their language level is appropriate. For this reason we carry out a placement test with each applicant in advance. The registration process consists of the following steps:

  • You send us the registration form by e-mail. You will find the registration form on the right under "Downloads".
  • We will contact you and make an appointment for a placement test via Zoom. We will then assess your language level and find the right course for you.
  • After successful completion of the placement test, you will receive a confirmation of registration and a request for payment and will be registered as an active participant.
  • The fees are paid per module and are due (via bank transfer) within two weeks of receiving the confirmation of registration and the invoice.
  • You will find a note on data protection in the downloads section on the right.

If you have any further questions, please contact us at deutschkurse.spz@hawk.de.

Visas for entry to Germany are issued by the German embassies in your respective country. If you would like to attend a language course in Germany and take the TestDaF examination before beginning your studies here, you should enter the country on a study applicant visa.

We recommend that you register early for an intensive German course. The processing of visa applications often takes several months.

At the same time, you should apply for a study place at the International Office. When planning your time, please take into account the application deadlines for your studies.

After payment of the course fees has been received, you will get the confirmation of registration from us, which you will need—together with the confirmation of application for a study place—for the embassy.

Visa and online courses:

Most of our intensive courses are taking place online. Participation is therefore independent of your place of residence. If participation in the course is a prerequisite for obtaining a visa, it is mandatory to attend the courses held in presence on Fridays. You can take the TestDaF examination at our university or at any other TestDaF test center. If you attend a course with us, you are guaranteed a place in the examination. You should try to get a visa for the TestDaF exam at the end of the course - and for your subsequent studies. We will issue you with a confirmation for this.
