Central proximity to people
The phenomenon of jewelry as a body-related object carries within itself an enormous symbolic power, which it is important to examine first of all quite independently of monetary values. We understand body-related objects in direct and central proximity to the human being as a possibility to enter into a non-verbal communication with the environment.
The individual concern of the designers becomes the subject of the objects. Hereby, for example, an identity and a belonging can be indicated, reflections on socio-social issues can take place and purely human needs can be depicted. All forms and manifestations of this are conceivable and can develop from a unique piece to the production of a series.
Jewelry and body-related objects are in direct dialogue between the wearer, the wearer, the viewer and the viewer and, depending on the cultural context, can evoke diverse readings and become objects of interpretation.
Thus, jewelry is in itself a wearable object, which makes it possible to house and evoke multiple narratives.
The objects and artifacts are realized by the students in the material. In the executing process, the hand-head relationship is decisive in order to let the interactions in the design process flow into a corresponding significant realization.
