See and feel spaces
Do we need a new understanding of space?
The origin of architecture is practical utility. Therefore, it is necessary to reflect again and again on how social demands, but also new technologies and materials, change architecture and the architectural detail.
Learning to see and feel the space, the place, the materials as well, learning to recognize the aesthetic and physical potentials and developing one's own mode of expression based on this: This is the way of thinking and working with which we support our students.
In our teaching content we want to design, beyond the fulfillment of the multiple functional criteria and the consideration of constructive and economic aspects, also the sensual, narrative level. This applies to the design of a gate, a piece of furniture or a free sculpture.
Often, it is only through doing that understanding becomes possible. That is why experimental and task-related material and work experiences are very important to us in the workshops. We link them closely with methodological teaching. It is our ambition that you expand your skills, at best you can implement your designs professionally and independently.
