New Green Engineering degree programme!

Thank you for your interest in the Master's degree programme Renewable Resources and Regenerative Energies. However, this programme is coming to an end, and applications for this programme are no longer possible. Since the summer semester 2023, we have instead been offering the Master's programme Green Engineering - Sustainable Energy and Process Engineering for the Bioeconomy!

Procedure and admission

A subject-specific, previous study programme (Bachelor’s or equivalent)

A pre-study internship is not required.

You must include the following documents with your application. Certified copies are required for transcripts and other official documents:

  • Covering letter (will be generated on the application portal)
  • Proof of higher education entrance qualification
  • Curriculum vitae (in table format) with passport photograph, return postage
  • Certificate of first university degree (provisional certificate with average grade and achieved credit points, if applicable)
  • De-registration certificate
  • Proof of relevant vocational training and/or extracurricular academic achievements (if applicable)
  • Proof of recognised German language examination (if applicable)

In the case of applications for higher semesters, proof of academic achievement is also required for the placement process.
Students applying for a second degree must also provide a written statement of their motivation to study (max. one page).

The data required for the application must be entered by the applicants on the HAWK application portal (online application).
The application portal will be activated no later than six weeks before the end of the application period.

For applications from abroad, the German language examination for university entrance (DSH) or a comparable qualification is required as proof of proficiency in the German language.
Proof that you have successfully passed a recognised German language examination is required.
The following certificates will be accepted:

  • TestDaF from the TestDaF Institute Level 4
  • DSH Level 2
  • Goethe Certificate C2
  • telc Deutsch C1 for University
  • DSD (German Language Diploma of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany) Level 2
