“Whether it’s electric cars, regenerative energy or smartphones – electronic systems are determining our future. Electrical engineering/information technology can help you to shape your future.”
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jens Peter Kärst

What is this study programme all about?

With this study programme, we are reacting to the increasing use of electronic systems with a high IT share in industry and will prepare you optimally for a growing market. Would you like to complete an apprenticeship or gain practical experience in addition to your studies? We also offer a dual study programme in cooperation with numerous companies in the region.

In the first semesters, you will learn the basics of engineering science.
In the following semesters, you will be able to focus on the specific field you choose (area of specialisation). This can be either in the field of measurement and automation technology or engineering informatics. You can also pursue this study programme without explicitly choosing an area of specialisation.

What can I do with it later?

After graduation, you will be qualified to work in an increasingly important field. With your comprehensive training, you will be ready to take on tasks in development, production, quality assurance and product management in industry.

What makes this study programme special?

The combination of electrical engineering and information technology subjects distinguishes this study programme from many others. The possibilities to flexibly design your studies individually, e.g. by focusing on a specific subject, as well as the interdisciplinary connection to other study programmes, also make your studies special.
