Semester

A semester at a German university equates to 6 months. The summer and winter semesters together make up one year of study. 

HAWK semesters run as follows: 

• Winter semester: 01.10 – 31.03
• Summer semester: 01.04 – 30.09

Semesters include the following activities:

• Lecture period
• Examinations e.g. tests or assignments
• Semester breaks (holidays)
