Ulrike Hähner has taught at the HAWK Hildesheim since 2009. Her denomination concerns the conservation and restoration of written material, books and graphics. She has many years of professional experience as a bookbinder, restorer and manager in the field of conservation management. The main points of her teaching are the teaching of

- methods of conservation and restoration, including their quality assurance,
- Measures of damage prevention and their organisation,
- Competencies for the management task of conservation.
One focus is on knowledge transfer and communication. For teaching, it develops methodological foundations and teaching materials, also in cooperation with other scientific fields. Together with the workshop manager Barbara Rittmeier, she offers a systematic teaching and training programme for learning conservation and restoration methods in the Bachelor's programme. In cooperation with archives and libraries, she has developed a minor conservation management for the master's programme, which is a unique selling point of the university. Teaching and research always take place in close cooperation with archives, libraries and museums.
