Language learning in tandem makes it possible for you to use your knowledge of the foreign language in conversation with a native speaker.
Language learning in tandem makes it possible for you to use your knowledge of the foreign language in conversation with a native speaker.
1. It's a lot of fun! You'll speak with other students in their native language and apply your foreign language skills naturally.
2. You can use what you have learned in traditional language classes in "real life".
3. You (together with your partner) decide the times for learning in tandem and the number of meetings.
4. You get to know people from other cultures and thus broaden your horizon. Sometimes this can even lead to friendships.
1. After you have registered, we will look for a suitable language learning partner for you.
2. You'll contact your language learning partner and arrange the first appointment. You decide together whether this meeting takes place in person or online.
3. A meeting usually lasts 90-120 minutes. Half of the time is reserved for you, the other half for your language learning partner.
4. Use your half of the time to talk in the foreign language about topics that interest you and improve your knowledge in this way.
5. Tell your language learning partner in advance what exactly you would like to practise and what support you would like to have.
6. Keep in mind: A language learning partner is not a teacher! This means that you cannot expect explanations of grammar, but your partner can correct you. Learning in tandem is about using the foreign language as naturally as possible by communicating with others in their native language.
