Both sides of the horizon
„Search, discover, transform…. surprise, all parts of the process I apply to the pieces. The materials get a 'return ticket' from me, and with their 'newly dressed souls' I send them back to the world, where they came from“, is how Flóra Vági describes her approach to creative work.
The jewelry artist directs the master's program in metal/jewelry at MOME/ Moholy-Nagy-University of Arts and Design in Budapest, Hungary. This partner university of HAWK is potentially interesting for a transcultural exchange in studies. She studied at the Alchimia Contemporary Jewellery School in Florence and followed up with a Master's degree at the renowned Royal College of Art in London.
Already during her studies Flóra Vági was invited to participate in international and solo exhibitions. Her works are located in public collections. These include, among others, the CODA Museum in Apeldoorn (NL), the Grassi Museum in Leipzig and the Marzee Collection in Nijmegen (NL).
In her presentation, she talks about her own design research and practice, as well as her department at MOME.
The lecture will take place on Wednesday, June 23, at 7 p.m., in English, via Zoom. Students and teachers of the Faculty of Design will receive the Zoom link via email. Those interested should email Andreas Kreichelt by 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, to receive the access data.
