“After graduating as a physiotherapist or speech therapist and completing a bachelor’s degree in therapy sciences, you will be able to take an evidence-based and patient-centred approach to treating patients and reflect on your own professional practice.”
Prof. Dr. rer. medic. Juliane Leinweber

A study programme of the Health Campus Göttingen

A co-operation between the HAWK and the UMG.

What is this study programme all about?

The overriding goal is to qualify members of the healthcare professions of physiotherapy and speech therapy on an internationally comparable scientific level to provide therapy in professional practice. Graduates of the Therapy Sciences dual study programme are, among other things, able to

  • work confidently and methodically on a scientific basis
  • reflect on their own working methods in a theory-driven way and to develop them further for health care
  • participate in research projects
  • adopt a special perspective of their chosen discipline and to move confidently and professionally in interprofessional contexts
  • apply therapeutic competences in diagnostics and the therapy of patients and clients in a reflected way

What can I do with it later?

As a graduate of the Therapeutic Sciences (dual), Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy study programme, you will be able to work in therapeutic institutions, take on leading positions, open your own practice, work in research, teaching, quality management, prevention and counselling.

What makes this study programme special?

What all the study programmes offered at the Health Campus Göttingen have in common is academic socialisation across occupational groups right from the start: Education and studies are closely interlinked - all nursing and therapy students learn and work together at an early stage. This creates a competence profile that optimally prepares students for working in multi-professional teams in their future careers.
